Like so many bright and beautiful baby boys, Tom Anderson was a child of great promise. Being sexually violated at a young age by an older man who presented himself as a father figure, Tom's life was dramatically changed. With divine grace, God reached into Tom's drugged and lonely life during his late teen years, and led him down a path that touched thousands of lives with the compassion and humility of Jesus Christ. As an outstanding medical doctor, Tom ministered to the sick, the elderly, and the mentally ill. In spite of his successful practice, he was haunted every day of his life by the physical, emotional, and psychological damage perpetrated against him as a child. Yet, it is not for these struggles that we remember him; but, for "His love for his family, his humble service and hospitality to his fellow man, and his commitment to God." In the end, Jesus won.

In the description the book talks about a victim and survivor of child molestation. I thought it was going to go into the detail about a survivors life. The book did not go into detail. Instead it speaks about one mans life as a survivor of such a terrible and dark experience. The main character of this book is about Tom Anderson and the impact he had on everyone who crossed paths with. In the beginning we read about his humble beginnings as a starving student, and young married couple. My favorite part was about the Chicken Lady. Tom Anderson became a Dr. and he changed the lives of everyone even his wife. It was an inspirational book. The life of Dr. Tom Anderson teaches us no matter the circumstances that we survive embrace God can give us a new path just trust in Him who created the moon and stars. I enjoyed the book and will remember the scripture the books shares toward the end. How we should live our lives. Matthew 25:35-36 "for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." We should all strive to live such a way. God Bless.
