When Angela Braddock enters her quilts in an Amish auction, she never expects one of her neighbors to end up going, going, gone....

Angie is finding her niche as the new owner of her late aunt’s Amish quilt shop, Running Stitch. But as the summer is winding down, so is business. To bolster support for the shop, Angie decides to sell her quilts in the Rolling Brook Amish Auction, including some of her aunt’s most prized works.

The quilts promise to be a hit—but the gavel comes down on the lively event when Angie stumbles upon the body of township trustee Wanda Hunt behind a canning shed. The cause of death: a poisoned blueberry fry pie from Rachel Miller’s bakery table. Now Angie’s closest friend is a murder suspect. With Angie taking the lead, she and the other women of her aunt’s quilting circle set out to patch together the clues and stop a killer set on shredding the simple peace of Rolling Brook.

I'm in love with this series. Seriously, murder shouldn't be this fun. Alan's refreshing humour adds an extra zing to her cozy mysteries.

We're back in the Amish community of Rolling Brook and all is not as idyllic as it seems. Another murder has Angie in hot pursuit of suspects as she tries to clear her friend's name. She's an endearing busy body who just can't leave the investigation up to the police, much to Sheriff Matthews' chagrin. There's a sweet romance brewing between these two -- but it's just at the beginning stages.

And of course, my fav character is back and in full form -- Oliver the bird paranoid French bulldog. And, glory be, this time round he has a Nubian goat sidekick not to mention his very own kitten. A captivating read full of mystery and humour and the hint of romance.

I love this author...she has a unique way of storytelling and I enjoy her books. I will be watching for more books by her. Ironically I think that her photo matches what her character is like and that in itself is fun. Oliver the dog is just adorable and the story would not be complete without him. The only thing I disliked about these books is the fact that they are paperback sized and difficult to read while in bed. I'm a nighttime reader and they are uncomfortable to hold. Please make her future books in the bigger sizes. Other than that, I really enjoyed this series.

This book was every bit as fun as the first book, I love this series, it has plenty of suspense with out bogging you down, the book keeps moving and when you start to feel like its getting a bit serious something funny happens. I look forward to book three and beyond.

Well, she has gone and done it again. Angela Braddock found another dead body. Poor girl. It's like a mystery is always knocking at her door. This time around Angela was having a good time at the local Amish auction and bam_she stumbles upon Wanda Hunt who has met an untimely demise. Wanda had just got into a major confrontation with Rachel Miller, who is Angie's good friend and now she is a goner. And well, she was still holding the blueberry fry pie that she purchased from Rachel. Rachel's husband has been embroiled in a battle over a land zoning issue with Wanda and things were not going good for him. Possible motive for murder? Could a tainted fry pie be to blame? Was Wanda's death an accident or something more sinister? And so it begins_

Sounds funny to say that I laughed throughout a book that's called Murder, Simply Stitched but I did. There are so many scenes that will make you laugh, smile, and have you hailing Isabella Alan as the Queen of Cozy Mysteries. Her characters are so darn charming and loveable especially the pets. I fell head over heels in love with Oliver, the French bulldog in book one and he is even more adorable in this book. This story has everything we readers enjoy. Mystery, romance, suspense, and a feisty goat. Feisty goat you ask? Yes, Petunia the goat is a real scene stealer and quite the character. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this book. All I can say for sure is that I know you will fall just as in love with the characters as I did and maybe even solve a mystery along the way.

I was provided a copy of this book for review purposes.
