The Amish Artisan Village in Middlebury, Indiana, has been decorated with every color of balloon and flower for the Race for a Cure. As manager of the Village, Amber Bowman is thrilled to see the turnoutand relieved to have something to distract her from the Poison Poetan individual who has been sending notes containing bad poetry to warn of poisoned baked goods. Then Ryan Duvall crosses the finish line of the raceand falls down dead, murdered in broad daylight. But who did it? And why? The police suspect Preston Johnston, but Amber refuses to believe her employee could do such a thing. Amber once again looks to her young Amish friend Hannah Troyer to help her find the killerand to determine if it's the same person leaving the cryptic poems and pies. Can they help the police before the Poison Poet strikes again? Both Amber and Hannah will need to draw on their faith as they fight to preserve the peaceful community they've built at the Amish Artisan Village.

Review: Fantastic end to a great series!!! I will miss Amber & Hannah! What a fun combo along with Pam, Preston, Tate and all the other characters that makes this a fantastic series!!!! The suspense of from the start made me rush to get to the grand finale! It was not surprise that Ryan was the victim since the book starts with that event. The rewind made for a puzzling that was fun to put together. I Loved how the series ended with all strings tied up. The transformation from the first to last book was great. I especially like that despite it being part of a series it was a stand alone book. Yes, much had changed, but it does not ruin the mysteries that take place in the previous books. It is almost sad to say goodbye to these characters.

I would like to thank Net Galley and Zondervan for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone. I'll never look at pie again! This book had a main plot and several sub plots going on at the same time. However, they were all woven together in a way that was easy to follow. Really hate to say goodbye to this small town in Indiana.

Murder Freshly Baked is another delicious tale of mystery and romance! Vannetta Chapman welcomes readers back to the Amish Artisan Village where murder seems to be the most popular dish on the menu. When delicious baked goods become lethal, a trail of poetry leads to a sweet-toothed killer.

I loved the suspense of this entertaining tale! Once again, Amber and Hannah join forces to help find the person terrorizing their tight-knit community. Although suspicions abounded, twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end.

Murder Freshly Baked boasts all the charm Ive come to know and love about Vannettas cozy mysteries! The books in this series easily stand alone, but I encourage you to read them in order. In doing so, you will come to know these special characters and understand their stories.

This is the third book in the Amish Village Mystery Series and in this installment we return to the quaint Amish Artisan Village in Middlebury Indiana.

Amber, who manages the Village and Hannah, who manages the local coffee shop must team up again to find out who is leaving pies for Amber that may or may not be poisoned. As Amber and Hannah dig deeper into the mystery they find that Englisher Ryan Duvall is dating three separate women at the same time two of which are Amish women. When this fact becomes common knowledge Amish woman Mary turns up missing and Ryan is murdered finishing the Race for Cure marathon. Amber and Hannah wonder if the two things are related, and how do the poems and the poison pie fit it?

While I loved revisiting the Village and its inhabitants, for me personally it was Preston that stole the show. We first meet Preston in the second book of this series, Murder Tightly Knitted as soldier that has returned home only to find that he doesnt fit in anywhere. In this book, Preston finally decides he need help with his illness and he is paired with a service dog mocha who is trained to deal with people who struggle with PTSD. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about these types of service dogs and the relationship that develops between human and animal. It was an amazing thing.

I also loved Amber and Tates relationship in this book. As more pies and threatening poems appear and they seem to be directed at Amber and she becomes more and more paranoid so she takes her concerns to her husband. I adored the fact that he took her at her word and he is very respectful of her fears.

As with her other book, the author does a magnificent job in portraying both and Amish and English customs and traditions.

This was a terrific ending to a wonderful series and Im sad to see it end. However I cant wait to see what the author is going to do next.

Oh my, it has come to an end! Unless Vannetta has some surprises in the future. This was a great story with threats, poisoning, and a 'surprise' murder even. This was a very enjoyable series and Vannetta shows how each person, at least those in the 'inner circle' so to speak, depend on their faith and are loyal to each other, willing to help. Even though they are Amish and Englisch, they are like family. Sorry to see this series end!
