Help your child master multiplication facts 1 W 1 through 10 W 10 in just twenty minutes a day - without flash cards or rote memorization! Multiplication Facts that Stick is unique because this program teaches children one times table at a time, working from the easiest tables to the most difficult ones. Instead of drilling, children will practice using stepping-stone facts until answers become automatic.
Ten units are included, with each designed to take approximately one week (though parents may adjust the pacing and activities to best suit each child's needs). On day one, parents teach a lesson that uses a ten-by-ten dot array with an L-shaped paper cover to model multiplication problems. Lessons include scripted questions with answers, and plenty of direction for the teacher. For the remainder of the week, children will recite the week's times table as a warm-up, play one of 5 different games (one each day) that practices new facts, and complete a two-sided practice page.
Ages 8 & up / Grades 3-7. Designed for children who have already studied multiplication in a math program, but who haven't memorized the multiplication facts; this program is not designed to be an introduction to multiplication and children will need a thorough grasp of what multiplication means before they'll be able to memorize facts.
To complete the games and practice pages, you'll also need 20 small counters of two different colors, a deck of playing cards, two regular six-sided dice, and paper & pencil (not-included).
424 pages, softcover. Reproducible for in-family use only. Organized with lessons at the beginning, followed by game boards, practice pages, and answer keys.
