Moving Target is a Serial Killers playground or so they think. This book is like an amusement park ride - which ride? Well the Space Mountain - you are going along up and down and Wham! A smack in the face - Surprise in the ride. You are reading the book and Quinn and Maddy are after the Serial Killer and Wham! Something happens - you then hit a Whip in the ride from one side to the other and you are like what the heck just happened? In the book you have the Serial Killer turning the tables and you wonder with the breath beaten out of you what is coming up next? Are they going to survive? Will they get the Serial Killer? Who is the Serial Killer? and when you do see light of day and the ride (book) is over you are soooo upset because it was too short and you want more so much more...but then you think hey - maybe they will write another one if we are lucky....... I received a copy of this book from Revell. All the opinions are my own of this book.

If you are searching for a spine-tingling, suspenseful thriller that will keep you peering over your shoulder, then look no further! Moving Target is a chilling who-dun-it that will keep you guessing until the deliciously creepy conclusion. Maddy McKay is one tough cookie who has an Achilles' heel where a certain tenacious detective, Quinn Holcombe, is concerned. However, a romantic relationship can't even be considered until they find the psychotic madman who is bent on exacting revenge by hunting them down like prey. Finely written with a spiritual thread interspersed throughout, I highly recommend Moving Target to every suspense lover!

Maddy is an ex FBI agent and she was good at her job, however things happened and it seem to blow up in her face and now she is a body guard of her own company. She is happy with what she doing and is glad to have her friend Quinn back on his feet, however it seems that someone is after them and now they need to find out why and who. Quinn has a few secrets he plans to keep close to his heart and he does have a way of keeping people at bay. But when he pushed his friend away a little to hard he knows he needs to apologize. However when someone seems to be after him and Maddy he is not more concerned about staying alive and keeping those close to them safe.

Oh. My. Gosh the author knock it out of the park with this book and did not disappoint one bit. The book was completely high impact and not one slow moment from page one to the last page has you on the edge of your seat. You find yourself sucked in and you just can't put the book down. I have really enjoyed this series completely and this book was no different and it will not disappoint. Grab this series because you don't want to miss anything.

This is not your typical suspense storyline, but neither is it a totally new concept. It's kind of a take on the Hunger Games - some sort of sick, twisted survival game, although it isn't televised. It's played out for the madman alone. It's always fun to read something different from the everyday, and the fact that this is well written makes it a home run.

Maddy and Quinn have been characters in this series from the beginning so I was interested to read their story, and I wasn't disappointed. Ms Eason has done a marvellous job of including the cast of characters throughout the continuation of the series without leaving too many ends dangling. You grow fond of a cast of characters that make appearances in each of the books, but I find it difficult if I have to remember too much detail from the book before however many months before. You could absolutely read these in any order and not be completely lost.

This story deals with somewhat edgier material than your average christian fiction, however I didn't find it to be terribly graphic or gory or anything along those lines. I think pretty much anyone could read it. Added to that is the fact that it's very clean and although there's romance, it's very tame. Definitely read this book, and in fact I recommend the whole series so far.

Moving Target is the third book in Lynette Easons Elite Guardians series and a book Ive been very anxiously awaiting. I made the mistake when I was finishing the second book of reading the excerpt for this one that the publisher so kindly included and after that I just couldnt wait! I was so happy to learn it would be Maddy and Quinns story, one Ive been anticipating since meeting them in Always Watching, and the cliffhanger in that excerpt - goodness! I always remember why I skip excerpts, right after I read one leaves me hanging like that. Ive been a big fan of Ms. Easons books for quite a while and they very rarely disappoint me, and I can happily say that this one definitely wasnt an exception. I loved the suspense that kept me engaged from the very first chapter and the mystery that kept me guessing - I was so close to being right, too!

I honestly have no idea how Ms. Eason creates these stories and the mysteries therein, but I so enjoy them, particularly a series that allows me to get to know the characters over several books. I really enjoy how the author continues to weave the characters from each story back into the current one, while also giving another glimpse into the character for the next book. I cant wait for that one, either! I also love how she continues to build the tension and the mystery until Im groaning when I have to stop reading and pretend to be a functioning adult while the characters are fighting for their lives. My only mildly negative comment is that the story lags just briefly for a chapter or two, while the author focuses on the characters and it isnt so much suspense driven. I kept turning the pages, waiting for something to happen, a gun to go off, or the villain to show their face, and it continued a little slowly, until it built to the climax at the end that had me back on the edge of my seat.

As always, the characters are my favorite part of any story and I so enjoyed getting to know Quinn Holcombe and Maddy McKay better. Quinn sports a hard veneer most of the time, seeming jaded by his line of work and a history that inspires nightmares. He isnt the easiest man to know and the challenges he faces encourage him to let others in and learn to forgive before its too late. While Maddy isnt a character I felt I knew as well prior to picking up her book, I quickly fell in love with her here. Shes the kind of lady Id love to have as a friend and one you wouldnt want as an enemy. She has hope where Quinn doesnt, and she challenges him to share his heart, not just with her, but with friends and family. She is also incredibly tenacious and determined, with an inner strength and kindness. While I appreciated their strength in the face of evil, I think my favorite moments in this story were the ones where they let down their guards and allowed themselves to be vulnerable. The times where the suspense paused for just an instant and they learned a little better how to love.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspense and a mystery to keep you guessing, but also takes the time for a bit of romance.

My thanks to the publisher for my advanced copy of this book! I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
