All David has ever wanted was love and security, but he wonders if that's possible for someone like him. In A Heart Surrenders, can he set aside his own ideas and fears and open his heart to the one God has planned for him?
In When a Heart Cries, Samantha and Adam Klaassen start married life and begin looking forward to their own family. But soon the silent bedrooms in the house built with such love and hopefulness haunt Samantha's days and nights. Does God even listen when a heart cries so fervently and long?

Hard to put this book down. Was so glad to get it on sale and the full trilogy in one book. Great buy. You feel the pain, excitement, love, in all of her characters. I will be reading this one again, and probably again.

These are three full-sized novels, all focussed on the Klassens, a farming family in the early 20th century in Minnesota. I fell in love with them, and the impact they had on Samantha and David - two damaged young people who responded beautifully to the love they were shown by this family. They didn't need to have the gospel preached - they saw it lived out as this God-fearing family loved and honored God and one another, and embraced the newcomers with loving open arms. It was great to follow them all the way through three novels. A thoroughly enjoyable, peaceful read, telling of a simpler time when family bonds were made strong by hard work alongside each other, lots of laughter, love and shared joys, and a lack of technology to isolate each person. Great value as a three in one volume too.
