As an elementary teacher for decades, I have knowledge and experience with educational theories and trends that have come and gone over the years. None prove as rock-solid right as Motivate Your Child! I have incorporated so much of this book into my family and professional life. It is a great resource.

I wish this book had been available forty years ago when I was raising my children. I wish all of my children had read this manual before they started having children. We might have been able to avoid some unnecessary heartache.

This book provides tools and hands-on strategies for Christian parents who want to teach their children that happiness may be found in the destination, but character is built in the journey. The authors provide clear insight into how God uses a strong faith and a good conscience as signposts to navigate the road of life, and how parents can help their children understand how these two gifts increase internal motivation. Throughout the book, readers are encouraged to look at the destination's end and to make a commitment to choose the wisest path, not the most convenient.

I received Motive Your Child, by Scott Turansky & Joanne Miller, from The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review, and my opinion is that every Christian parent and teacher should mine the treasures this book has to offer.

Every parents wants that encouragement and how to book. Raising kids is not easy. This book explores a theology of internal motivation and then gives parents real-life solutions to equip their kids for life. What a wonderful answer! Todays society is all about what is in it for me. This has so many options to build that motivation in your kids and help them grow spiritually.

The book is separated into two sections of focus: moral development and spiritual development in children. Under each section has many chapters to keep you going and answer those age old questions about mistakes, consequences, compassion, strategy, Gods plan, scripture, your children and the Holy Spirit and many more. Many helpful reminders such as practice what you preach, are woven into the material. It is a very easy to read approach and easy to understand. I loved the down to earth suggestions and applications for Gods word in parenting my child. A helpful index in the back is useful for targeting specific questions and going back to review things you have learned. What a wonderful legacy to leave on your children knowing they will leave it with their own children. I highly recommend this as a bookshelf keeper for any parent!

Motivate Your Child is not a how to book but an explanation of the why's of your child's behaviors. It shows you how to train your child to function as a more responsible Christian with a strong basis of spiritual examples. The book is jam-packed with biblical examples to demonstrate current issues.

As a health care professional that worked daily with children and their parents, I wish I would have had this book to give in my information list for parents. I think they would have benefited greatly from it.

I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was privileged to receive a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review, which I will give here. I have since purchased the Action Plan that accompanies this book and look forward to taking it a step further.

This is a great book that exlpains how to get at the heart of your child, not just raise them to behave out of habit, so to speak. It gives some practical ideas that you can use while training your child. It is not a how to manual, rather it is a tool where you feel the authors are walking alongside you. I highly recommend this parenting book, along with the accompanying Action Plan.
