Patti CreekComanche, TXAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Wonderful Book for EVERYONE!October 11, 2013Patti CreekComanche, TXAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"God In Slow Motion" by Mike Nappa is an excellent book. It peaked my interest right from the start.
I love reading Christian books that I can learn from. I have a hunger for God that seems to be insatiable. I just can't get enough. I want to learn all there is to know about my Savior, so I read any kind of non-fiction book on this subject I can get my hands on. Lately, I keep getting books that are almost like "text books" on the subject. They use HUGE words that I don't understand and their style of writing is WAY over my head.
.
"God In Slow Motion" is DEFINITELY NOT like that. I enjoyed it so much! Instead of reading "fact after fact" or having to spend more time in the dictionary looking up words I didn't understand, I was actually able to engross myself in Jesus' life, and learn about Him in an intimate way.
Mike Nappa took ten very important moments in the ministry of Jesus and wrote about them in a way that had me "actually being right there with Jesus". I had to rethink my way of understanding Him. It was wonderful.
Mr. Nappa takes these ten occurrences in Jesus' ministry and brings them into todays perspective. He makes us think about how we look at ourselves.
He uses these occurrences to jar our way of thinking in today's world. How we in fact use the words hope and faith interchangeably when they really are not the same, how we have momentary doubts just as John the Baptist did when he was sitting in prison and so on.
It has really enabled me to look at the ministry of Jesus in a different, more intimate and deeper way than before.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who has a yearning to learn more about Jesus' ministry and a hunger to get closer to Him in our way of thinking and everyday life. -

The concept is that the author will take several passages from the Gospels and dig in really deep and take a "slow motion" approach to studying the life of Christ. I am always looking for something that digs in a bit so I was excited. The book was good and very encouraging, but I didn't feel like it quite lived up to the "slow motion" digging in deep concept.
