This book is fantastic! It exposes in a clear and direct way the top 10 faults in the Roman Catholic church. Extensive use of Scripture and sound Biblical interpretation are employed by the Ron Rhodes. Contrary to what some Catholics are saying in their reviews, the author correctly defends the Canon of the Bible is 66 books, not 73 books which the Catholic translations have. The Apocrypha were never accepted as canonical by the Jews so it's spurious to include them in the Biblical canon.

There are some inaccuracies (probably honest ones) regarding the canonicity of what he called "Apocrypha." A true scholar would not dispense the fact that parts of the Apocrypha are quoted even in the New Testament. The Catholic Canon was recognized way before the Council of Trent. It was only declared official at the Council to prevent the already growing false teachings that were denying even some of the books of the New Testament Canon.

This is a great book! Simple, clear and biblical. DR. Hodes exposes the Roman doctrine with a large variety of Catholic bibliography and confronts it with the Protestant and biblical view. The emphasis is not to attack the Catholics, but just help us to talk to our Catholic friends and show then what really the Bible teaches.

The arguments against Catholic belief are slanted against Catholicism. There are inaccuracies which show that the author is perpetuating what people THINK they know about the Church not the truths the Catholic Church actually teaches.
