For over 25 years McDowell has been giving readers thought-provoking insights into the events surrounding Christ's life and asking whether they could all be explained by coincidence. Asking the hard questions about the reliability of biblical records, psychological profiles of disciples and apostles (would they die for a lie if the stories are not true?) and whether or not Jesus can be considered simply a good man who spoke some wise words, the author shows the light of truth while not overwhelming the reader with too much text. Designed as a missions and evangelism tool, this book has a proven track record!
Abridged; approximately; 2.5 Hours; 2 CDs; read by Josh McDowell. Also includes a live interview with Josh McDowell.

With more than 15 million copies in print, More Than a Carpenter continues to be one of the most powerful evangelism tools worldwide. Josh McDowell's timeless examination of the true nature of Christ and his impact on our lives is one of the best-selling Christian books ever. Written by a former skeptic of Christianity, it answers the tough questions about Christ’s deity and the historical reliability of Scripture. In a concise, understandable manner, Josh explains why Christ’s claims are true and how that reality can change a person’s life.
To date, Josh has authored or co-authored more than 100 books on topics ranging from Christian apologetics to common problems facing youth. Several are best-sellers and recognized as leading books on the Christian faith. Among his most popular contributions on apologetics are Evidence That Demands A Verdict (which he published in 1972 and was recognized by World Magazine as one of the century’s top 40 books) and More Than a Carpenter (published in 1973 and now translated into more than 75 languages). Josh has also created a True Foundations” line of product to help families and the church rebuild the foundations of the faith within this generation. Visit www.truefoundations.com to learn more.

I enjoyed the radio interview at the beginning. I especially liked that Josh McDowell is the reader. He has a good voice for listening and it made the book more real coming in the voice of the author. I appreciate that the book is BOTH apologetic, that is defending the faith, AND testimonial of what Christ has done in the author's personal life.
Wayne Davis4 Stars Out Of 5November 7, 2009Wayne DavisMore Than A Carpenter is a great book. More Than A Carpenter TODAY is not. I purchase these CD's to hand out to folks that I think would be interested. This CD starts with a "Live" interview by a radio host with Josh McDowell. It's not part of the book and doesn't belong on the start of Disk one. I have to make a copy of the CD eliminating the first track. I know this is probably illegal but I don't know what else to do.
Joel Ketcham5 Stars Out Of 5July 7, 2007Joel KetchamI was able to lead 2 men to the Lord because More than a Carpenter was in Audio format. Both men were able to listen to Josh McDowell in their cars. Men are generally not big readers but will listen when given a cause to listen. We, as Christians, must do our best to bring everyone to a knowledge of Christ and More than a Carpenter on Audio is a big plus.
