It would be good if Moody would redo these with modern clothing BUT the information they give is unmatched anywhere else...when I showed it to modern kids, they seem to not even notice the dated appearance of the man because they don't really know it is dated (they weren't alive when this fashion style was in fashion) so they seem to take his suit as it is BUT they are amazed at the experiments and the teaching...THAT is what makes this series so RELEVANT and TIMELY.
I don't have this set, but have wanted it for our Home Office Library for a long time, yet it wish the price would come down.
If any of you have a set you would like to sell, would you please reply to this note and I will send you further contact info. I know some say this series it way out of date, but having watched many of them, I LOVE that they seem like we're going back in time to a simpler world, before so much more confusion entered in.
I might remind the librarian who posted here - that God's Word is never outdated!
These are wondeful and I haven't, after watching almost all of them, seen one scientific item brought up that is no longer true/proven false. So they are not at all outdated in their information. I only wish we had someone today who could teach science and the Bible this way! Yes, his suits are dated, but that is not important to us. These are wonderful!
We've used the VHS's in our home-education program for years and are seeking to upgrade to DVD. These are so straightforward and non-stressful. They do not need the flashy, grab-your-attention that most modern series use. The kids enjoy teasing on his suit and tie but the clean-cut look is sooooo refreshing!!!
While this product is filmed 50+ years ago, the truths are ever so applicable to today. Most of them are simple enough for youth to understand and capture the attention of adults. They did some amazing things, and there are some funny parts too in their experiments that are good for a few laughs. There are a lot of teachable moments in these, and I definitely recommend them. However, make sure you are aware of what you are buying--they are on DVD now, but are from 1950's.
