It had a "real" feel to it where the characters struggle with the same things that I struggle with, which is something I enjoy in a book. Real life is a struggle and making readers think that it isn't is a lie.
Rae Stevens is a free lance reporter that has been burned in love but is assigned to do a story on local baseball super star, Malachi Burke. She doesn't want to like him and doesn't want to go on a date with him but fate keeps throwing them together. She wants to believe the worst about him and wants to print it. However, Malachi is trying to change and embrace his faith and he wants everyone to know it. When a family issue arises, will Rae change her mind about Malachi?
I received a free copy of Monday Morning Joy for my honest review. I wasn't paid for my positive review.
ConnieKentuckyAge: Under 18Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5EnJOYable Christian RomancrApril 12, 2016ConnieKentuckyAge: Under 18Gender: FemaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Small town newspaper journalist Rae Stevens is given an assignment to write an article about a local athlete who has become a celebrity baseball player and she is determined to find what she needs to know about Malachi Burke in the shortest time possible, write the article and then move on to her next subject. Rae has recently suffered the humiliation of having her sportscaster boyfriend end their relationship and Malachi's reputation as a ladie's man leaves her cold!
Author Tia McCollors allows her readers to see another side of this ladie's man Malachi Burke as we witness his desire to repair and deepen his relationship with God. We are also shown the deep bond that he shares with his grandmother and we feel his concern about her failing memory. McCollors even treats us with a little mystery when his grandmother disappears.
Monday Morning Joy offers us a view of two people learning to trust each other as they both strive to overcome past hurts. I found myself cheering for their deepening relationship as they allow God to work in both of their lives. Although this is the third book in a series, it is the first one I have read by Tia McCollors and I hope to read more of her books.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review from The Book Club Network, Inc. and the opinions are my own.
Carrie4 Stars Out Of 5enjoyable contemporary romanceApril 7, 2016CarrieQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3This was an enjoyable read. Monday Morning Joy is a contemporary romance written by Tia McCollors, who is a new to me author. I most likely will read more of this series. This book is about Rae who is a reporter for her town's struggling paper and is moving on after a broken engagement. We also meet Malachi, a hometown hero and professional baseball player nursing an injured shoulder who comes to Greensboro to hold a baseball camp for children. Rae reluctantly agrees to write a story about Malachi, who has a reputation as a womanizer, and his charitable organization. Malachi has found faith and new life, but finds it difficult to change his reputation. This was an enjoyable read. Since I live near Greensboro, I felt that I could relate to the characters and the southern culture.
I received a copy of this book from the Publisher in exchange for my honest review which I have given.
Danielle Hull4 Stars Out Of 5A truly Christian contemporary romanceApril 6, 2016Danielle HullQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I dont read a lot of contemporary romance, but Id read Friday Night Love by Tia and loved it, so I knew I wanted to read Monday Morning Joy, too!
The characters stuck with me for days after I finished the story. I felt like they were my friends and family. Tia did a perfect job of not glorifying someones sinful past and avoiding anything intimate between the characters. She gave a great guideline for a Christian couple dating, and I would be comfortable with my older teen reading this one.
I was disappointed by some poor editing/proofreading.
Thank you to Tia McCollors and The Book Club Network for a copy of Monday Morning Joy to review.

I have not read books two and three in the series, as this author is new to me. I plan to read those as well since I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The two main characters are very appealing and capture the readers interest. The minor characters, such as Grannola, the grandmother of the male lead, as well as other relatives of his are amusing and appealing.
Rae Stevens is a freelance writer and a writer for a small, hometown paper. She is attractive, smart, and recently jilted by her fianc, a popular local sportscaster. Malachi Burke is a successful Major League Baseball player whose past is littered with many relationship flings. Malachi has changed, though, and is giving back to his hometown by sponsoring baseball camps for young boys. Naturally, the editor of Raes newspaper assigns her to cover an interview of famous athlete, Malachi Burke. She is less than enthused and is so over sports and sports celebrities.
Malachi is intrigued by Rae and the Godly woman that she is, but can he penetrate the wall that she erects to protect her heart? Their story is a warm, interesting journey that has several twists and surprises in store for the reader. I highly recommend this novel. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
