Publisher's Description

In these 31 reflections from Matthew, moms and grandmas discover how they can be more like Jesus in a #keepingitreal kind of way. Short and sweet, the goal is to help readers get back on track, including a response section at the end of each entry.

Casual and sassy, this book invites women who drink coffee and enjoy a glass of merlot. From loving jerks to confusion with prayer, it's mostly about being honest and remembering how much we've all been forgiven. Whether you're new to the faith or a mature believer, your takeaway is the same--just go deeper! And if you think Aquaman is hot, jump to reflection #20 (#justsaying).

MOMS KICK BUTT makes a great gift for an aunt, sister, or friend for her birthday, Easter, Mother's Day, or Christmas. While mom devotionals are a dime a dozen, this one targets the one lost sheep--recognizing we've all been lost at one time or another.

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  My main job has been as a wife and mom. I used to teach college-level Spanish and ESL, but I started blogging for our local newspaper and writing for Scholastic when our kids were young. In the last few years, I've enjoyed contributing with Reader's Digest. It's fun to research new topics and interact with a variety of specialists. I'm a Bible study table leader with our church's women's ministry, and I love getting to share my faith when God opens the door.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Since I've been blessed with a number of great writing opportunities over the past decade, I decided to use a similar style applying lessons I've learned from my faith for moms, aunts, and grandmas.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope women will connect with my authenticity. As someone who struggles with depression and anxiety, I am the first to admit my need for help along the way. I consider it a privilege to lead others closer to Jesus, the Author and perfector of my faith.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Through final edits, I would often cry while skimming the chapters over one more time. After some personal health challenges, I found the words I had written ministering to my own spirit more than when I had first written them. It's like the Lord was whispering, Will you keep trusting me even when it's hard? My answer: Yes, I'll keep believing, but I need your help when I'm faltering.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  C.S. Lewis and Tolkien are two of my faves along with Mother Teresa, A.W. Tozer, and Lettie Cowman (STREAMS IN THE DESERT).

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  If my book helps you to go deeper in your faith, please write a quick review and pass it along to someone else, so she can do the same.
