I purchased this because I was drawn to it immediately. The woman depicted here has a striking resemblance. I've been trying to help her become more engaged in her walk with God. I made sure to point out that the bible was open.
The detail work is pretty impressive. I mean it is a resin composite, which could have bad results if bumped against something. I wouldn't want to drop it.
This did come with a small chip on the right side of the base, which I don't know how. It is packaged well. Had to have been while packing it. It would not have been a problem at all as I know christianbook.com would have sent a replacement out immediately. And with a postage paid return label. I just had to give it to her because of a timing issue. I used a roller pen to return the exposed gray material back to black, and told her it was special now. The scripture plate looks a bit worn. Purposeful? I think the base looks of higher quality than the figure but, she is beautiful! If I were to look for one of these made of the material depicted it would be well over $100.
When I gave it to her something unexpected happened. She asked if she could hug me. I like hugs. Especially the first one.
I gave this praying sculpture to my sister in law as a gift for her during the passing of her mother. She ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! She even liked it so much that she took a picture of it and placed it on the web for people to see because she indicated it was such an encouragement to her during her time of bereavement. She indicated that it will always remind her that Prayer Changes Things and she has to keep praying.
