GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Are Fresh Starts Possible?June 17, 2017GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I enjoy books by Davis Bunn. He tells a great story. But if I had never read his books, the picture on the cover would draw me to this one. It looks like such a beautiful setting to get away from the hustle and bustle of a major city and figure out what is important in life. And Davis Bunn's word pictures simply enhance the beauty of the setting. Connor Larkin feels like he has lost himself in Hollywood as a "bad boy" actor and left his dreams of being a singer far behind. He needs a getaway and Miramar Bay seems to be just the place to try to find himself. Connor is also running from his pending wedding to a wealthy heiress because he has realized she is not the one for him. The Castaways is an upscale restaurant that catches his eye, or maybe I should say catches his ear, the first day he is in town. The owner, Sylvie Cassick, loves the kind of music he once dreamed of making and he hears the sounds coming from the restaurant as he walks down the street. Stepping inside, he is carried back to his younger days growing up in his family's restaurant. The drama, suspense, and romance enhance the story. Connor and Sylvie both need to get past all that has happened before and figure out where they are going. They are not the only ones with tough decisions to make. Several of the main characters need a fresh start.

I'd still recommend it, especially because it's #1 in a series.
