As an avid reader of all Dr Robert Lesslie's writings I was not disappointed in his most recent book, Miracles in the ER. A passionate ER doctor, Dr Lesslie brings out many truths of life, love, and hope. He is not silent in pointing out the effect wrong choices have on our lives. Neither does he shy away from the reality of pain and death. A blend of humour and inspiration, this book is definitely worth a read.

Today I 'just happened to see" this book as I walked by the non-fiction area. Since the previous books by Dr. Lesslie were such good reads, I took this one home with me. At supper I snuck a preview. Should not have done this, as I ended up setting aside my dishes and continued reading - to the end. Wow! Once again I was not disappointed. Inspiring? Interesting? Fascinating? Thought-provoking? Laughing-out-loud? Crying along or at least almost doing so? Could not put it down. This will go on my keeper-shelf for re-reads.

Enjoyed it very much. Liked the idea of just short stories which can be picked up and read when a person has just a little while to read. Showed interactions between nurses, doctors and patients and how love and care helped in many situations but also shared how patients and their families were helped and changed even in rough circumstances.

First book I've read by Dr. Lesslie, but certainly won't be the last. Inspiring stories, and an interesting glimpse into the situations faced by our front-line emergency workers and how they cope emotionally and spiritually.
