Author Bio

Since her 2005 breakout RIAA Gold certified album Awaken, multi-Grammy nominated artist Natalie Grant has remained one of the top-selling Christian and Gospel artists with over 3 million in sales.  The Gospel Music Association has named her the Female Vocalist of the Year five times, and she has had multiple songs and albums on the Billboard charts. More important than accolades, her passion is to help people across the globe discover their God-given calling and encourage them to live it out to the fullest potential.  An outspoken advocate for victims of human trafficking, Grant cofounded Hope for Justice International a multinational organization that rescues and provides complete restorative care for victims of trafficking.  Grant makes her home in Nashville, with her husband producer, and songwriter, Bernie Herms, and their three children: twins Grace and Bella and their youngest, Sadie.  Follow Natalie at www.nataliegrant.com

Editorial Reviews

The Glimmer Girls are back in the series’ third installment, this time at the Grand Ole Opry. Twins Mattie and Mia (and younger sister Lulu) are nervously excited about their musical debut at a benefit for a homeless shelter. Time spent at the shelter stirs compassion and a desire to help in the girls, even as they search for a valuable, stolen guitar. This short novel, less focused on mystery than its predecessors, instead zeroes in on friendship, compassion, and humility. Grant’s writing is getting stronger, and her character development fuller, lending the series added promise.

Miracle in Music City is a book that you and your daughters will love! I had reservations about book 1 and book 2 in this series but I can happily say that I heartily recommend this book. There are all of the things that I liked about the other stories like spunky girls, loving parents that put their trust in God, and a situation that involves a bit of mystery. I'd also like to say that there are no instances of children being in dangerous situations.

In this book the Glimmer family has just returned to their home in Nashville after being on tour with their mother over the summer. Maddie and Mia are so excited to see their best friends Annabeth and Emily. Unfortunately that green-eyed monster named Jealousy chooses to rear its ugly head. All of the girls get their feelings hurt in different ways which is painful but it's also a wonderful learning opportunity. Kuddos to the mommas that gently guided behind the scenes to nudge their daughters towards reconciliation.

The mystery involves The Grand Ole Opry and a very valuable guitar. It was fun to wander the backstage area with the girls and get to know a little bit more about such an iconic place.

A secondary storyline involves the homeless and what we can do to help. I thought this was presented in a very sensitive way. Natalie Grant wrote it with an empathetic voice toward the plight of homelessness, especially children that are caught in this awful situation. I liked the lessons that were inserted into the story. They were presented in a natural way without being soapbox preachy.

If you have a tween girl I recommend this book. It's my favorite of the three by far. It is a part of a series but I think it can easily be read as a stand-alone story. If you would like to read the series however, it does need to be done in order or you will encounter spoilers. There's a fourth book that is slated to come out in January 2017 and I look forward to reading it as well.

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

Glimmer Girls Miracle in Music City was sent to me free of charge, by Zonderkidz a division of Zondervan Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

This Christian fiction chapter book that was written and illustrated by the award winning recording artist, Natalie Grant. This is the third book in her GLIMMER GIRLS Series. You will find past reviews for both London Art Chase and Dolphin Wish, which were both fun books.

In Glimmer Girls Miracle in Music City the three girls, Maddie, Mia, and Lulu experience helping the homeless. They also get to perform onstage at the Grand Ole Opry. They learn to remember that they are doing it for Gods glory, not their own. They also learn a lesson about being true friends. I dont want to spoil it for you, so I wont tell you everythingBut, they do get to solve another mystery, when a prized guitar goes missing.

I would definitely recommend this book, and the whole GLIMMER GIRL Series to any young girl who likes to read. Natalie Grant teaches a lot of good lessons in all of her books, which I really like, as well. ENJOY!!

So I allowed my daughter to read the book and tell me what she thinks of it.

Her initial reaction is that she loves it!

She loves the adventure and the fairies.

The book is about three sisters which she can relate to as she has two sisters of her own.

She loves that they go on an adventure (she's also read a Dolphin Wish by Natalie Grant and about the same sisters). The story starts out with them helping their mom and delves into them going on an adventure, with adult supervision in the form of their nanny. It is a mystery.

I love that its good wholesome entertainment. I don't have to worry about if its going to have a poor message or profane language.

I love that it teaches teamwork among siblings. Something that I see taking root in my children at home.

    {I received this book in exchange for my HONEST review from the publisher through the BookLook Blogger program.}
