Michelle K5 Stars Out Of 5Medical Thriller with a Dash of RomanceDecember 8, 2015Michelle KQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0First thoughts: This was a great, entertaining medical thriller with a dash of romance. The story felt very believable and I'm glad the author noted at the beginning that the disease in this book is completely made up! From the moment the book opened with a murder, the story kept me turning the pages. It had plenty of action and suspense plus a few plot twists that were surprising.
Plot: Dr. Josh Pearson is asked to become the personal physician to the former president, David Madison. Shortly after Josh takes over, David Madison becomes very sick, along with Josh's girlfriend, Rachel Moore. As Josh struggles to determine what the strange disease is, he must depend on an experimental drug and the help of many others. With a limited supply of the miracle drug, Josh is faced with the decision of which patient gets treatment: Former President Madison or Rachel, the woman he loves.
Characters: The story is told through multiple points of view, which makes for a well-rounded story. Josh and Rachel are the main characters, but we also get to see things happen through the eyes of the former president, his secret service protector, his influential assistant, and members of the medical community that Josh reaches out to. I thought they characters were all well written, with enough mystery around them that you're not sure who to trust.
Recommendation: I'd highly recommend this book to those who enjoy medical drama and suspense. If you enjoy books by Candace Calvert, you should try Dr. Mabry's stories. Miracle Drug is a stand alone, for those who don't enjoy reading a series.

Favorite Christian BooksCovina, CAAge: 45-54Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5Great Read!November 30, 2015Favorite Christian BooksCovina, CAAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Richard Mabry writes strong stories with excellent characters, action, and suspense. This story is no exception. Dr. Josh Pearson is a strong character but he had a lot to learn in regard to priorities and the power of politics. Rachel Moore was sweet and compassionate but she had a depth of faith that impacted those around her. The story was interesting. I learned a lot about a diphtheria and it made me thankful for vaccinations. The author did a great job of keeping me guessing who the culprit was and why.
Each character added to the story, including the doctor who is murdered in the opening scene. The author did a great job of giving personality and depth to each character. He also allowed us to see little tidbits of each character that served to keep the identity of the would be murder in question.
Definitely recommend this book to current fans if you have never read Mabry but like Candace Calvert youll enjoy Richard Mabry.

MaureenTSyracuse NYGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5How Do You ChooseNovember 18, 2015MaureenTSyracuse NYGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I just finished Dr. Mabrys Miracle Drug and you need to know that not all is revealed until the last page is turned.
How do you choose who lives? The man you have committed to save, a former President and World leader, or the woman who has finally reopened the door to your heart and you finally admit you love.
How the treachery and deceiving evolves throughout the book, and you never know who or whom you can trust and maybe they were also involved. What it all comes down to is the almighty dollar, and what length these people will go to achieve their goals.
The author tells you at the end that there is no such disease or drug, but could there be? Could people actually ransom a curing drug and if you dont have a large sum of money you die?
I loved the faith of some of these characters, how willing would you be to give your supply of a drug that would save your life to another? Yet, we have a nurse, who knows the Lord and is willing to let the former President have her supply, she knows where she will be going when she dies.
Come and enjoy an unforgettable read, you wont be able to put it down and it will have you riveted to each page as you discover who to trust and where you went wrong.
I received this book through Litfuse Publicity Book tours and was not required to give a positive review.

Wow. If any of you have read my review on Mabry's 'Fatal Trauma', you know how intensely dramatic I am when it comes to suspense. Seriously. INTENSELY dramatic.
This book is nothing less then scary! I promise you will be on the edge of your seat the entire read. It's that intense. The perfect mix of medical meets mystery, this book was not one to be set down and picked up at a later date. No, this one is meant to be devoured from cover to cover with a healthy bit of fear and curiosity involved.
The writing is impeccable as in Mabry's last novel. The storyline was completely relatable and supenseful. The best part? Mabry turned it into a work of art by including God's sovereignty within it's pages. It takes a suspense story and brings it to a whole new level of "real life". So. Awesome.
Great job on another awesome medical suspense! Go read it guys!
This book is an "edge of your seat" suspense novel perfect for readers that love Candace Calvert, Lynette Eason, Dani Pettrey, and Diann Mills.
