This is a wholesome book with each chapter being a little story itself. My DD loves this book and the adventures that MMM has, in fact she would love more of these books. We incorporated this with a literature guide that was fun for her to use along with this book. One thing she did comment on was the language was different-it was illustrating the way the characters talk, but it is different than the way we do. For example, in the dialogue they used "hullo" instead of Hello, and "Muvver" and "Farver" for Mother and Father. As a parent and a reader it is endearing because I remember when our little ones were learning to speak and sometimes had inflections that made words sound a bit different. It didn't bother me a bit and it isn't present that much within the storybook. It actually adds to the charm of the story. Fun and easy read about a time that was much simpler.
