It never ceases to amaze me that God provides resources for my Bible teaching exactly when I need them. This week as I studied 1 Corinthians 5 about immorality in the church, verses 7 talked about cleansing out the old leaven & v.8 "For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed." This is the Ransom of the Soul. It made me pause in my studying and research unleavened bread. The Messiah in the Feasts of Israel by Dr.Samuel Nadler does a wonderful job explaining the Messianic Passover Feast. I had never heard Matza called "the bread of haste." The process of removing leaven from the home was performed by the head of the home at the beginning the Jewish Seder. But for believers, the removal of leaven is more about the cleansing of the heart. This is the Removal of Sin. Paul used this lesson to chastise the prideful Corinthian believers. I will definitely use Dr. Nadler as a resource for my lecture this week. Thank you Rose Publishing for the PDF of this resource for my honest opinion.

Messiah in The Feasts of Israel opens up our eyes to the rich meaning of the Feast!

In the epilogue to Sam Nadler's "Messiah in the Feasts of Israel", he discusses the tragic consequences that have resulted from the efforts of the Christian church to divorce itself from its Jewish heritage.

Perhaps no greater example of this exists than in the inattention paid to Leviticus, chapter 23. Here, we read of seven annual feasts which the Jews were to observe; four in the spring, three in the fall.

in Eusebius, we read of the emperor Constantine's loathing of the Jews and his efforts to purge the Christian faith of its Jewish foundation. So Passover was passed over in favor of "the sacred festival of Easter". But there is critical instruction in the history and tradition of Passover which is being lost. So it is with all the feasts.

And they are beautiful, allegorical representations of the greatest events of scriptural history before they occur. The spring feasts of Passover, First Fruits, and Pentecost foreshadowed the death and resurrection of Jesus and the giving of the Holy Spirit. And the timing is precise!

If the great events of Jesus' first coming correspond to the spring feasts, should we not expect those of his second coming to correspond to the fall feasts and at the precise times?

This seems to suggest that we may know the time of year of Jesus' second coming, but perhaps not the year! It also seems to suggest that Jesus does not return at any random time of the year.

All this is lost upon the Christian who thinks his Jewish heritage is unimportant and the Jews have little or no importance in God's kingdom.

One criticism, however: I don't believe there is a pre-tribulational rapture of the Church.
