I am immensely enjoying my Message Remix Pause. The Message Remix Pause is an excellent way to read through the Bible with each day numbered to keep me on track, and I am so thankful for this wonderful volume's addition to my daily Bible reading schedule. Although I am not a teen anymore, I still would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a specific tool to help them read through the Word of God.
The book is more fun to figure out than actually reading the scriptures. It does need clearer instructions on how to find verses (as they are not numbered). The book reads more like a self-help or motivational book, which is good. It does not lend itself readily for actual Bible study, though. The book cannot stand alone as an class tool; but, I love the surprises when I turn the pages.
The Message version of The Bible has its own unique way of conveying God's word in language that is "real world" for todays conversations. PAUSE takes this wonderful style of language and conversation and puts it in a format designed for daily reading - and does it a great way! An excellent choice for those looking for a structured way to read through the Bible.
This Bible was a gift to our 3 teenagers and several of their friends. All of them have made very positive comments...and they are using them daily. What a gift! Thanks to Eugene Peterson for making a study Bible that is interesting and pertinent to the lives of teens. A Bible that they use daily! Our kids have recommended this Bible to their friends, need I say more?
I L-O-V-E this Bible! It's easy to read & I find the stories so interesting. I can't wait to dive in everyday. I love that I get to read Old & New Testament every day, & it's already arranged for me. I don't get overwhelmed trying to figure out what & where to read, where to start & where to stop. I can read a little in the morning & come back later for more, or read further ahead. I'm actually kind of sad to see the story end sometimes, which is cool.I've read through the bible before (using the 90 Day Bible, also great), but I love that I can read this one like a real good book. The thing I loved during my last through the bible journey was the opportunity to see God's story in the big picture context. Its fascinating & personal. I love it, really. Oh, & I'm 28, so this bible is relevant for more than just teens. Enjoy!
