Author/Artist Review

Author: Terrie Fahning
Located in: Rincon
Submitted: April 21, 2025

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am Terrie Fahning the author of Mercy's Happenings, a young reader book. These are some of my accounts living on a small farm with my family in Stockbridge, Georgia. A am now a retired Surgical Technologist and Tae Kwon Do Instructor. I currently live in Rincon, Georgia with my husband Kenneth. I am also a mother of seven, grandmother of seventeen and a great grandmother of six.

What was your motivation behind this project?  During Covid 19 lockdown I would go for a daily walks at 5:30 am to talk to God and listen to Him. During many weeks of walking God reminded me of the stories of my life on our small farm. I was lead to write these stories down, believing that they might be for my family. After a few months God impressed to to have them published. I told God "I am not a writer and who would ever want to read them?". Now here I am, the author of a young reader book...God also has a plan.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Mercy's Happenings has six stories, after each story there is a section called "Let's Talk About This!", where the reader and parents or teachers can ask these questions aloud and have a great discussion with the children.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  The book's theme center on the enduring values of family, faith, and resilience, drawn from the simple yet profound moments of farm life. Fahning highlights how the wisdom she gained as a child continues to resonate in her adult life, offering readers practical insights they can apply to their own journeys. With a warm and inviting tone, Mercy's Happenings invites a wide audience to look back on their own formative years and consider the lessons that have shaped them. In essence, Mercy's Happenings is both a personal memoir and a universal story, blending nostalgia with inspiration. It's a celebration of the small joys and big truths that emerge from a life rooted in love and spirituality-a perfect read for anyone seeking a touch of wisdom and warmth.
