Tell us a little about yourself. I am a new upcoming writer from Nairobi, Kenya, married with three children. I got saved on October 8th 1987 and I have a great passion of seeing people live right and act right towards others. I have been actively involved in the field of business and also in Church Ministry. I believe that the best things in life are free - Love, Friendship and forgiveness being just some of the things I value deeply. I believe that I am an influencer, first in my home and secondly to the outside world. My 26 years in salvation should not just be a badge but a motif that decorates the lives of others through the values I uphold and pour to them.
What was your motivation behind this project? Around the world, there is great disillusionment towards Christianity and general disappointment at how Christians live; yet Jesus Christ remains irresistible to many. This is a divide that made me ask why our Lord would project one thing and most of His followers a contrary image. I realized it has to do with our menu, the diet we daily partake. We Christians by our nurture dispense glimpses of our salt and light in the specific areas we are best fed in but fail miserable in others that we are starved in e.g. One may be strong in giving or in wisdom yet be very poor at forgiveness and love. "Menu for the Living Soul" prescribes a mind transforming diet that seeks to mould individual character and ultimately social character based on key biblical principles that are wholesome in nature.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that the readers will be moulded to think and act like Christ since the chapters in this book all discuss about the fundamental issues that Jesus raised time and again in his sermons - Love, Forgiveness, Joy, Friendship e.t.c.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I realized that being Christ like is not a revolution but a transformation that requires a daily intake of a soul transforming diet. It made me realize that we are all a work in progress but must make effort to be a part of the transformation. I daily ask myself, do you live what you wrote? It is a hard question that daily drives me to the place of surrender to God.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I greatly admire the literary accomplishments of Dr. Myles Munroe and Charles Spurgeon. These are great men who achieved much more than their years could have permitted by hard work and persistence.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I have grown up and lived in Kenya, which is in East Africa. Africa has been greatly impacted spiritually by missionaries from outside the continent for many generations. From a dark continent, Africa now needs to hold her light to this dark world. I am one of those sons from Africa who would want to make the long gone missionaries smile in heaven by reaching out through my book to their lower generations in other parts of the world.
