Take it from a recovering marshmallow!

I just started reading this book about a week ago and I am loving every minute of it! I am the mom to 3 busy boys and a graduate student so free time is something of a myth in my home, however I am making an exception when it comes to reading the Mean Mom's Guide! This is a great and easy read perfect for ALL mom's! As a recovering "Mini-Marshmallow" mom, there are so many things in this book that apply to my everyday life. The real life stories from other mom's who have been through the same parenting issues and how they have survived give me hope, especially for the upcoming teenage years!! From discipline to family time this book has it all! Joanne is an amazing author, speaker and woman of God! LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!

    Mean Mom or Marshmallow Mom?

The Mean Moms Guide to Raising Great Kids helps all mothers understand how helping our children to be responsible and kind, to hold ownership and provide service to others, and to be a praying family is a good thing. She guides the reader with humor, grace, real life experiences, and prayer as the reader learns to raise a child to an adult who understands and keeps boundaries for themselves and for their own future families. Joanne Kraft focuses also on the spouse, God, and prayer as focal and pivotal in the family. I would recommend this book to the Mean Mom and the Marshmallow mom; it is about balance and consistency too. The two parenting styles need each other as mentors and encourage-rs because sometimes we can be both!

The Mean Mom's Guide to Raising Great Kids is a must-read parenting book! It touches on a lot of vital topics like technology, chores, busyness, faith, entitlement, and more. I read Joanne's first book, Just Too Busy, and loved Joanne's personable, hilarious tone. This book shared that same tone. Joanne's writing is authentic and fun, but also full of practical parenting tips. I also like that Joanne shared real stories from other moms throughout the book. If you're looking for a book that will make you laugh but also give you some great advice, this is a great choice.
