Deep down, Daniel Neville wants to be a preacher, but he's battled doubts and distrust for most of his life. Wracked with guilt over his twin sister's death and then "punished" with a limp from an injury sustained during a stampede, Dan dedicates himself instead to serving his family and working with horses on their ranch. Marriage is far from the top of his to-do list, and he aims to keep it that way.

Michelle TullerCAAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Satisfying read! I enjoyed every moment!June 25, 2011Michelle TullerCAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In Maverick Heart, the second installment in the Lone Star Legends series, Loree Lough brings us back to Eagle Pass, Texas. It's 1888, and Loree invites us to join her in a "rousing Wild-West adventure," complete with bandits, rustlers, cattle drives, tornadoes, and so much more!
Loree has an excellent knack for creating characters that truly come to life. You really get the sense that you know them, and you care about them. I was left feeling like I'd want to join the Nevilles for supper, or sit a spell on the porch with some lemonade. The dialogue is so well done, and I love the wit and humor that Loree has laced throughout the book.
I appreciate the fact that Levee O'Reilly was such a strong woman, in addition to a strong woman of faith. She was faced with adversity, but no matter what situation she was in, she rose to the occasion. She's strong, capable, resourceful, and calm under pressure. She could certainly hold her own! With her perseverance, faithfulness, strong work ethic, willingness to serve others, and her dependence on God, I found her to be the type of woman that I would look up to in real life.
If you're looking for a well written, satisfying, memorable story, look no further! I enjoyed every moment that I spent immersed in the pages of Maverick Heart! There was never a dull moment, and each page brought plenty of action, adventure, and romantic tension between Dan and Levee. The story never slowed down, and definitely kept my interest from start to finish! I closed the book with a smile on my face, and an eagerness to read book three in this fantastic series! Unbridled Hope, book three, is scheduled to release on July 5, 2011.

Drawn and stuck between two guys who will Levee choose , will she choose the safe option of Mack, a close friend she has gotten to know and rely on since the tragedy or will she take a risk and choose Dan ? Read as Levee must decide who to be with otherwise it may eventually end up an 1888 Love Triangle.
Find out in Maverick Heart who Levee chose and whether you agree or not that it was the right decision as me personally , I would have chosen the other guy.
Maverick Heart is the perfect read for all those women out there who love their Christian Fiction - wild wild west style.
Robin PraterMissouriAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Lets go to Eagle Pass!!!March 18, 2011Robin PraterMissouriAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Oh, to be inspired by a book thrills my heart! A Maverick for sure. Levee O'Reilly is one of those girls you absolutely love and admire. Her character is so strong, yet you see a vulnerable side to her. She has been through much, but the Lord has brought her through. She might be petite, but she carries a huge joy that steals your heart from the first pages and keeps them turning. I was cheering her on all throughout the book. Levee has seen loss in her life and felt the pain of being alone, but you would never see that by the way she lives. She takes one moment at a time and is determined to live fully.
She finds herself in Eagle Pass, Texas as a teacher after tragedy strikes once more in her life. Before long she meets the Neville family and finds her heart pounding when sees Daniel Neville. Once you meet his character you wish you were Miss O'Reilly, yourself!
Dan has seen the hard days of life and is finding his way back. The Neville family is one of strong faith and leadership. This story is filled with love, but even more so, learning to live again. When you pick up this book you are off for an adventure and one you will not soon forget.
Thank you, Loree Lough, for the gift of this beautiful book for review. It was an honor my friend.
