Levi was raised to be a priest, but turned his back on God when his brother was murdered in Herod's massacre of the innocents. Now as a wealthy tax collector, he's despised by his own people. Then he hears about Jesus. Could this man who heals the sick and raises the dead be the Messiah?
I was looking for a way to ignite anew my faith during the season of Lent. As Lent is preparation for Easter I wanted to fall in love with Christ all over again. If you are a longtime Christian then perhaps you know what I'm talking about. We've done the Lenten studies and we've read the same Lenten scriptures for years. So I picked up Matthew's Story with a tall order in mind...renew my first love. Well, I was pulled into the story from the beginning. I thought I knew Matthew as the Book of Matthew is one of my favorites, but I've met him in a new way through this book. And I'm excited to say I met my Jesus in a new way through Matthew's eyes. If you are like me and need a fresh encounter not only with Matthew, but with the Jesus Matthew knows, then Matthew's Story is a must read. You will never read the Book of Matthew the same way again.
This is a great book, I got this thinking that I had purchased it in hard back. I had allready read the book and have acutually given 2 away to relatives and I believe that they were hard back, I just got this one because I allready have the other three Mark, Luke, and John in hard back and wanted all of the collection. I have not completly read all of them, but working on it lol. After I read them I would like to get something on Romans and so forth so I can have a better understanding of 'God's word.
