Gospel according to who?

The Book of Mathew word for word from the New International Version leaves a lot to be desired. I found the portrayal of Jesus very poor, Bruce Marchiano as Jesus did not strike me as the suffering servant, he was often happy go lucky always smiling acting like he was the life of the party while the apostles were always gloomy and without participation, the King James Version states Jesus was a man of sorrow. I found if the manufacture Cascom Media were following the text word for word in the bible it either left out significant portions of the Gospel or the New International Version is not a complete historical record, for example it made no mention of Matt. 12:50 the same is my brother my sister and mother a very important aspect of the church surrogate, at his crucifixion there was no conversation with the two thieves on the cross and promise to one this day you will be with me in paradise, additionally the New International Version leaves out Jesus warnings of the flesh (KJV) interpreted very different as the body (NIV, the broader meaning eclipsed can be misleading). All in all this flick did not bring out the best it could have about the gospel, I felt it lacked a good critique in details this could be a result of the New International Version, moreover it almost seemed it was being interpreted in the visual tone and manor by actors as interpreted by world view as opposed to the spirit of God. The mechanics and that which was reported of the book of Matthew are accurate despite what I see as a few short comings; it is to the style and completeness I felt it left room for improvement, I would still recomed it but get a KJV bible too and read for yourself.
An excellent opportunity to know and to enjoy Matthew's gospel. An extraordinary aid to share the word of God and the life of Jesus to others. The quality of production, places, customs and clothes, etc. is superb. A DVD all that wish to share the word of God must have.
The is a wonderful portrayal of Jesus, very down to earth and real. The problem I have with most stories of Jesus is that he is portrayed as very stoic and speaks with little emotion. Not so with Matthew. It rings true in your heart. Be prepared to be forever changed in your view of this gospel. His humanity will overwhelm you!
