Chapters 5 through 7 of Matthew's Gospel contain Jesus' inaugural speech, the Sermon on the Mount. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus provides us with instructions for how to become ready to enter God's kingdom, how to have a place it in when it arrives, how to cooperate with its growth in the world. Yet the coming of God's kingdom—day by day and at the end of time—depends on God's overarching, creative power.
Six sessions include questions for discussion and application, commentary and explanations, quotes and prayer helps along with the text to be studied individually or with a group. Group sessions take about one and a half hours.
