Do you have a rebellious teen or young adult living with you? What about when your children are grown but you disagree with something they do? How do you handle this? Our kids are still young and at home but I am quite sure we will face this issue as they get older. In her book, Love No Matter What: When Your Kids Make Decisions You Don't Agree With, Brenda Garrison along with Katie Garrison explore these issues. I loved this book. It is refreshing to see Godly parents share their parenting struggles. So often you go to church or log onto Facebook and you see all these Pinterest perfect families with kids dressed well and clean and all smiling and their Martha Stewart home decor glistening in the background. And you are left thinking your kids are the only ones who argue with each other or leave their room a mess or acting defiant. Whether your kids are infants, toddlers, tweens or already grown you will be able to relate to the stories and advice in this book. For myself, I am sure I will reread this many times during the coming years.

How will you respond when your child makes a decision you don't agree with?
Parents and kids will never agree on everything but what can mom and dad do when that decisionââ¬âwhether a matter of preference, spirituality, or moralityââ¬âis something they think is totally wrong? Author and speaker Brenda Garrison knows all too well that how parents respond will either build a wall or a bridge between them and their child.
Brenda and her husband were forced to answer this question when their oldest daughter Katie abruptly moved out of the house with no means of support. It was not an illegal or immoral decision, but it was one that wasn't good for her. Their determination to keep an open door of communication is documented not only by their story, but by comments from Katie in each chapter as she offers insights from her own perspective.
Also included are other family scenariosââ¬âeverything from matters of preference to foolish, immoral, and even illegal decisionsââ¬âas well as insights into different styles of parenting such as servant, checked-out, gotcha, scared, and controlling parents.
With practical tips and relatable stories, Brenda shares how to model God's parenting style and explains the difference between the parent's responsibilities and the child's, then helps mom and dad discover ways to develop and nurture a relationship with their child that will last a lifetime.
This is a great book that help;ed me see things the way parents see things. We have to love kids even when they make bad choices. I lead junior high youth group - I am totally suggesting this book to many of the parents. They need to read this!!!
