Jessica Atherton cant believe that the man she was sure she would marry has just broken the news that he intends to wed another. But when two different mend enter her life, she must decide which path she will follow.
I liked the character of Texas Ranger Austin Todd. He carries a terrible weight on his shoulders, but he is also a man of God and is willing to move on with his life with Gods help living his life with honor and integrity.
Jessica Atherton had the biggest change. The first half of the book she is still the same spoiled, selfish woman that we met in book # 2. However about the middle of the book, she begins to take a look at her life and her priorities, and begins to ask questions about God.
I definitely didnt like the courtship between Austin and Jessica. Because most if it took place in the last half of the book, for me it seemed very rushed, not a lot of time was spent on it. They seem to fall in love almost overnight.
The storyline wasn't all that interesting, and there were places that tended to skim over.
Personally, this wasnt my favorite book in the series, but it was as always with this authors books, God is evident within the storyline. The author make sure that her readers know that this is a Christian book.
I give this 3.5 star just because of the way the author wove so much of God into the story

Jessica and Austin were wonderful. It was nice reading about Texas and learning a little about what the secret service once worked on. I look forward to more in this series and other books by Tracie Peterson. I received this from Bethany House for a fair and honest opinion.

However, after recently being rejected by the man she had thought to marry for a woman not as beautiful or well to do as she, Jessica has started looking inward and finding she doesnt care for what she sees. With suitors still lining up at the doors, Jessicas world is thrown for a loop when two distinctly different men find their way into her life. Will Jessica be able to follow her heart when she is not even sure who she is anymore?
I wasnt sure when I started this book how I would feel reading about Jessica. I havent had a chance to read the previous two books in the series but I know from reviews and back covers that she is not exactly a joy. I really enjoyed her character arc though and she grew so much throughout the story.
Tracie Peterson certainly knows how to write a story and I always enjoy her work. With many series under her belt, some of which can be read as standalones, I would definitely suggest reading this one in order as a little of the story and character development was lost on me having started at the end. Overall I enjoyed this story and will definitely go back and read the first two books.
