SAS725 Stars Out Of 5My son loved! Purchasing again for 2nd son!August 18, 2016SAS72Quality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 5My parents had originally purchased for my youngest brother (who has since graduated from college). My brother said BJU Math gave him an excellent foundation for Mathematics! When I began homeschooling my own son, four years ago, I knew immediately that we would go with BJU Math and hoped my son would also enjoy it and that we would experience the same success.
My son loved the colorful illustrations, manipulatives, and weekly short story (in corresponding Teacher's Manual). The narrative somehow always helped tie that weeks Math lessons into a mini Social Study/Geography lesson and seemed to always end with a giggle for both of us! After Phonics, Reading, and Handwriting, we always ended our school day with BJU Math, because it was the most fun!
We used BJU Math for K5(purchasing again for second son), 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and will now be using it for 3rd Grade.
P.S. Highly recommend the Teachers Manuals! They have a simple two-page daily foremat and help to create a more well-rounded, fun and exciting learning accompaniment to the Student Textbook.
Rae5 Stars Out Of 5CuteNovember 5, 2015RaeQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My 5 and a half yr old loves this book. the only issue I have is that the first half of the book seems to be review for him. He blew through the first 3 chapters in 3 hours and did all of chapter 4 the next day. He attended a Christian private preschool 2 days a week at 3 yrs and 4 days a week at 4 yrs. He then attended one of the top public schools in our state from Sept to Nov. I'm not sure what curriculum they used, but he is light years ahead of BJU in the math department. I make him stop after 4 worksheets each day right now and he gets upset because he wants to continue. At this rate I'll be buying BJU 1st grade math curriculum in January. Interesting note: In reading/handwriting he is right on track w BJU K5 curriculum.
