We love this workbook!! We home school and we currently, use S.O.S. Alpha Omega. I like S.O.S. because it is a great way to home school, but the Math, is really difficult, because there just isn't enough hands on practice. They teach new concepts everyday without re-enforcement. This work book is 6th grade level, but he is actually in 5th grade, so Alpha Omega, must have "higher" standards, which make the math curriculum way too hard. My son loves doing math now. This work book was an answer to my prayers, because now he is more confident, and enjoys Math. thanks.

Using with the Cds. Cds are excellent. I'm having my son work the problems out in the book if necessary. Most are just easily answered on the computer.

I didn't start using TT until Grade 3, but my daughter took to it so well that I've stuck with it. She's now starting 5th grade, but I just logged on to order Math 6. Her learning style is reading it for herself, so I have not purchased the CD version yet, as she does very well with just the workbook and written instructions. I also limit her screen time, which includes TV and computer - so the less she has to do sitting at a computer, the better I like it. I will eventually, but so far no. She works at her own pace, I just have to keep up with the grading!

My daughter completed the Teaching Textbooks 5 and wanted to continue on with level 6. For 5 we used both CDs and the workbook, but she often didn't need the book. So for 6 I bought the CDs only. After a few lessons, she requested a workbook. She realized that copying the problems onto paper introduced more possibility for error and took longer. She also told me that the book had information that she liked to turn back and reference.

You certainly can use TT curriculum without the workbook, but having the book makes it much easier.

I am so glad that we found the Teaching Textbook. They make learning math so much easier. We will absolutely continue to use them each year. Each lesson teaches something new, but reviews the past lessons. That way you continue to keep reviewing what you have learned. We did not get the cd's this year, but we will for next year.
