Product Description

This is not a book about making the most of singleness, nor is it a how-to with ten steps to "finding the man of your dreams." Rather, it's a book that encourages single women to live like they plan to get married. It will show you how to embrace Christian community, learn to encourage men and empower women as you work toward your ultimate goal: a God-glorifying marriage. Includes commonly asked questions about applying Get Married to individual situations, recommended reading, and author's personal story.

Publisher's Description

Singles are getting conflicting messages from today's culture, both Christian and secular. Is it okay to want to be married? Is there anything a never-married woman can do, within a biblical framework, to "assist" the process? Candice Watters gives women permission to want Christian marriage, encourages them to believe it's possible, and supplies the tools to get there - despite our anti-marriage culture. This book blends the author's personal journey from singleness to marriage with the biblical perspective on marriage. As an editor for Focus on the Family's Boundless webzine, Candice Watters knows the target audience inside and out. Whether a woman has been told to "get married" or marriage is on her lifelong wish list, Get Married points her to the source!

VI have really enjoyed reading this book. It has been insightful and challenging. It has challenged the way I have thought about the responsibilities of women in relationship to men. She had a Biblical foundation to what she wrote. She was forthright in the way she wrote. I highly suggest you read this book for yourself.

This book was quite informative regarding what is happening in our culture today and just why so many choose singleness over marriage. The author gets to the solution and offers many suggestions for a woman who desires marriage believing this is God's will for her.

This book confronted many things that I could not admit aloud, including the fact that I DO want to get married. The author brought back to the forefront the importance of having friends from different age groups, and even parental involvement in helping toward the goal of marrying well. I realized how brainwashed I have been by our society for women to isolate themselves from those that do not belong to our generation: Just act like we don't need a man and the only thing that is important is our career. This book addresses the thought that things would just come together and one could just be passive about their future mate. This was a refreshing Biblical point of view on how single women should view marriage and what role they play, as well as, their families and close friends.
