Publisher's Description

The goal of this book is to help you understand and make the most out of your times of hurt and pain. God uses suffering as a powerful tool to develop character, compassion, humility, faith, perseverance, and even prepare you for how you may serve God in heaven. It is my prayer that you will be encouraged, enlightened, and educated, so you can make sense out of why God allows suffering.

Get ready to discover the vast scriptural details in the lives of the biblical characters, the truths God revealed to them in the Bible that deal with suffering and what they were inspired to say about their trials and tribulations.

Along with that youll see the way suffering has influenced my perspective and how my faith in God and His Word has prepared me to live a blessed and productive life.

Tell us a little about yourself.  II am a polio survivor having contracted the virus as a 14 month old child. It was in 1952 and the epidemic that year caused 60,000 Americans to get polio. The vaccine finally went to the public in 1955.

What was your motivation behind this project?  As a person who has gone through much suffering from a disability from polio, I know what it's like to wonder why me or why does God allow so much suffering? I was fortunate enough to survive many challenges and end up becoming a pastor and Bible scholar.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope they will gain practical answers for the why questions. Why me? Where is God? Why did this have to happen? What good can come from this?

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  It came about after a life threatening health scare. I had to be in I.C.U. of a local hospital for 12 days and a rehab center for another 21 days recuperating. When I got home I began the research and writing of this book. 18 months later here it is.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My main influence is a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Bible adds phenomenal inspiration. Other authors who have influenced me are C.S. Lewis, Phillip Yancey, Max Lucado, and James Emory White. Music by Matthew West, Mercy Me, Sidewalk Prophets, and Chris Tomlin.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  God is always working behind the scenes whether you see it or not. He is working all things together for the good for those who love and trust Him as Savior and Lord.
