Product Description

David was a shepherd and a king, a soldier and a poet, a sinner and a saint. He was also a man after God's own heart. In this Christian classic, Alan Redpath blends insights from 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 Chronicles, and Psalms to demonstrate how God shapes those who are responsive to his love.

Despite his many faults, David became a man who wondrously understood and reflected the mind of God. Both men and women will find themselves identifying with David's struggles and triumphs, giving them a glimpse of how God is continually shaping them as well. Paperback.

This is one of a small collection of books that I would probably not consider "loanable". I am selfish with this one because it is one of the most important books I have read. The authentic Christian will truly appreciate the strikingly brilliant insight that Redpath provides into the life of the man after God's own heart. You will be blessed for sure.

I used this book in bible college when I took the course in Samuel. The author brought out events from David's life and applied them practically for us today. This would be a great read for men and women as they learn what God wants in a servant.

Dr. Redpath's classic book on the life of David is undoubtedly one of the most influential books I have ever read. Loaded with spiritual truths and illustrations which have real, living applications in our lives today, this book tells us many things about this great character from the OT. More is written about David in the OT than any other person and Dr. Redpath's incisive and compelling look into the life of the man after God's own heart will show what we all need to know to take that path--right into the heart of God.This book will quickly become a favorite of anyone who reads it and meditates on this wonderful exposition of the life of David.

Redpath provides some very unique insights into the life of David in this book. As Redpath notes God does not hide the warts of his disciples but shows them for what they are human. This is a very encouraging and, at times, convicting book. Well worth the read.
