These high-interest readers featureboth narrative and informational books that cover a varietyof genres. The informational readers incorporate the use ofnonfiction features such as indexes, glossaries, tables ofcontent, and captions. All readers include a purpose-settingquestion, graphic organizer, follow-up comprehensionquestions, and a writing activity. Titles of the fourreaders are The Feast, Seasons, DesertTortoise, and Goodnight Nisha.

EPS'Making Connections curriculum can be used as either asupplemental or stand-alone reading comprehensioncurriculum. Each unit focuses on a specific skill that'sintroduced and developed through explicit instruction,practice, and support.
