From the writers behind the popular blog Coffee + Crumbs comes a beautiful new book to remind you of your identity, both as a woman and as a mother.

Lindsey1 Stars Out Of 5Save your time and money!August 27, 2017LindseyQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1This book is somehow filed under the religious category and doesn't contain a single verse of scripture?! Please go buy another book that actually helps to point you in the right direction of where to seek comfort and cast your burdens to make your yoke lighter. One that I've found to be much better than this is Loving the Little Years.
Kaycee5 Stars Out Of 5Must Read for All Moms!April 21, 2017KayceeQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
If you are a mom, you need this book. If you aren't a mom, but want to be a mom and you desire motherhood, you need this book. If you have a mom friend in your life, this book would make a perfect gift for her!
The Magic of Motherhood by Ashley Gadd and the writers of Coffee + Crumbs is a collection of short stories ranging from real life parenting to adoption and foster care to miscarriage and loss. You will laugh and cry along with each of the stories. These ladies share their hearts, their experiences, and their lives. The Magic of Motherhood is simply a wonderful book for all kinds of mothers!
Why would this make a perfect gift for your mom friend?
First of all, when I pulled this book out of the package, I was immediately impressed with the aesthetics! It is a GORGEOUS book! It's hardback and there are such beautiful pictures sprinkled throughout the book. I love that it comes with a built-in ribbon bookmark since I'm not one to "dog ear" pages, and I always end up trying to find some sort of scrap piece of paper to use for a bookmark. I'm not even kidding you when I saw this would make a perfect baby shower gift for a mom.
Second, let's be honest, sometimes this stage of life, whether you're are a mother, or if your heart desires to be a mother, is hard. It's discouraging and lonely. Sometimes we feel as though no one understands our situation or how we feel. There is a story for every sort of mother you can imagine which makes this book special.
The short stories in The Magic of Motherhood will make you laugh, cry, smile, and nod. I guarantee you and your mom friends, regardless what stage of life she is in, will love this book!
Rosie5 Stars Out Of 5A must read for ALL moms!March 28, 2017RosieQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love the blog Coffee & Crumbs. It was established right after Jimmie was born and I have been reading it ever since then. It has helped me cope with the bad days, enjoy the good days, and accept my feelings about motherhood. I have cried, smiled, and laughed, while reading this wonderful blog.
Now you can cry, smile, and laugh while reading the blogs new book, a collection of essays, The Magic of Motherhood by Ashlee Gadd. Some of the essays I previously read on the blog, but most of them were new to me. I enjoyed reading one essay at a time, thinking about it, and then reading another. The pictures and quotes on several of the pages are beautiful and inspiring. This is a must read for new moms, soon-to-be moms, and moms who have been in the midst of motherhood for a long time. Its full all the stuff we want to say to each other but feel like we cant because then we will be judged. This is a judgement free zone kind of book.
The Magic of Motherhood opens up with my favorite post from the Coffee & Crumbs blog: A Letter to My Pre-mom Self. The first time I read this essay I ugly cried for a good while. I remember reading it because my son was just past three months old. Those first three months were HARD. Looking back, I cant even remember a lot because I was in a fog that I never thought would go away. But it did. Eventually the fog did clear. Motherhood is so hard. Motherhood is so beautiful.
The Magic of Motherhood is filled with love and struggle: Love for adoption, the struggle of infertility, love and struggles of marriage, the struggle of the hard days, and the love for the easy days. Sure you can buy all the baby books at the store (been there), but you wont find this kind of clarity in those books. The Magic of Motherhood reaffirms the fact that it really does take a village and we are all in this together.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

However, The Magic of Motherhood by Ashlee Gadd is such a wonderful compilation of all things of mommy and how no matter what there is beauty in every single step we take to becoming a mom. I think the stories that she shares even during the most difficult times are probably my all time favorite because of their power and strength. The downsides are what so us our power and they are really if ever showcased and I love that about Gadd's book. Such a great read. I received a copy for this review from book look bloggers and all opinions are my own.
