I have read the Augsburg edition of Luther's Table Talk, and it is superior to any other edition. About two years ago I bought and read the Christian Heritage edition of Table Talk, and while it is a readable edition, it has abridged much of the most interesting material you could ever want to read, from the Augsburg edition. I imagine that they found some of Luther's comments to be offensive to certain ears, but, I personally do not believe in abridging any written work. Who is to say what is worthy or unworthy in a certain work. If you are going to go to all of the trouble to print a book, then print the entire book, and let the reader decide for himself. Do not arrogate to oneself to decide what is appropriate or not. Let the reader decide. Thank you to all who have seen fit to reprint the best edition of table talk available, next to the German edition.
