Luther on Education

This book offers a translation of two of Luther's most important treatises concerning education To the Mayors and Alderman of the Cities of Germany on Behalf of Christian Schools and A Sermon on the Duty of Parents to Send their Children to School. The author, Professor Painter, offers historical context for the treatises and a discussion of the role of the Reformation in bringing forward a renewal of educational method and philosophy, that continues to influence educational theories and methods to this day.
