I purchased this film for our church library. I was disappointed to find the three German "experts" approach to Luther and his message to be from a very liberal viewpoint. Certain conservative Lutheran denominations such as the LCMS will not agree with some of their statements. Other more liberal denominations will feel right at home. It's too bad the makers did not strive for a more balanced presentation.

The footage picturing the places Luther lived and visited is quite well done. Excerpts from the 2003 film Luther were interspersed throughout the film and prevented it from becoming just another documentary on Luther.
