I personally liked this book and the whole Bailey Flanigan series a lot. I don't share a lot of the complaints other readers had over who Bailey ends up with because this was the first series I've ever read by Karen Kingsbury; I didn't know much about the background stories concerning the other characters which is probably why I didn't have any problems with how things turned out at the end.

Being around the same age as Bailey, I could relate to her a lot with her struggles to trust God with the plans for her life. Her faith was exemplary to me, especially when it came to her relationships. Yes, this particular book in the series was maybe a bit unrealistic and a bit like a fairytale, but this series *has* inspired me to trust God with my future relationships and wait for a godly man to pursue me.

Overall, I really liked the series and would definitely recommend it to other young adults my age. If you've read other books by Karen Kingsbury and have followed the story of Cody and Bailey, then this series will probably be more difficult to enjoy. But if you're like me and this is your first Kingsbury series, don't let the negative reviews keep you from enjoying a great read!

I was tempted to turn to the back of the book to see who Bailey chose to be her husband but was very glad I did not yield to that temptation. The script was well written and the reader was drawn into the selection process. No one will be disappointed in Bailey's selection.

I'm a bit sorry to see the Baxter series come to an end. I don't think I can overdose on them. All we can do is hope they will reappear in a later series.

Before I ordered this book I went to the reviews to see what others thought. Oops! Many of the readers gave away the end (ie. who Bailey ended up marrying). I was a bit let down from learning the outcome, cause I was rooting for the other guy, but when I got into the story it couldn't have worked out better for all parties involved. Karen Kingsbury got blasted by quite a number of readers because she didn't end the saga the way those readers thought it should have ended. Even one said they wouldn't read her anymore. That's life! It doesn't always work out the way we want. Some people blast God when it happens to them. It's His story and He has the final say! Same with an author of a book. Karen decided who she wanted Bailey to marry and she had the final say! It was Karen's choice. Don't be mad at her for her decision. These readers had gotten into the storyline so much that they seemed to think it was real life and they should have a say. Please, don't blast her for not writing it to fit your idea. I enjoyed the book and yes, even though I can see patterns that she uses from past books, I love the scripture thoughts that her characters think and it inspires me to memorize more so I can have a Holy Spirit inspired answer for my daily life praises and trials.

I understand others feelings of dissapointment when Baily chooses another besides Cody. They did truly love each other, but it was an immature love of attraction and not a good choice as life mates. That hard truth in real life is sometimes painful. Cody would have always felt unworthy if married to Bailey and Bailey would have always been hurt by Cody's feelings of inadequacy.

I enjoyed this book for the honesty of that hard truth. How many people choose the wrong mate for this very reason? The "they lived happily ever after" is what readers enjoy when they read books to escape from real life. This book offers that, but with the honesty of going through the pain of finding a true soulmate and I loved that.

Having watched Bailey grow from a young teenage girl to a beautiful young woman, it was wonderful to see how one chapter of her life ended, and to get a glimpse of the next one. Her path was rough and painful at times, but in the end, God directed her steps and made His way clear. I found it to be an amazing story of grace, forgiveness, restoration, and lasting love. Were there many other directions Karen Kingsbury could have taken the story? Absolutely! But the reader must realize that, as the author, she has the right to take the story wherever she is feeling led to take it. I would have been at peace with Bailey's decision, no matter who she chose, because I know Bailey was earnestly seeking God's will for her life, and Karen was earnestly seeking God's will for the direction of the book! It was truly a beautiful and inspiring love story!
