Read it if you must. It's a decent read if you find yourself with time on your hands, but the "mystery" is negligible, as is the "romance." Tish stands on the brink of being a truly good character, with interesting flaws and a distinctly quirky personality, but just doesn't quite come to life, and barely takes a stab at a character arc.
Overall, it could have been a great book with a stronger plot and some character ironing, but it just doesn't make it.
This book was one of those books where you think you have it figured out, and you're wrong. Quite a different kind of story and a lot of who done it, humour and life's embarrassing moments. A little romance, some renovation, and a closer look at who we are in the light of Gods grace.
While the ending was disappointing, the rest of the story was fascinating. I had a great time reading it and just couldn't put it down. When I finished reading it I learned it is the first of 3 in a series. Boy was I thrill to learn that and immediately bought the other two. Right away I noticed the reason for the disappointing ending of this book is because the story continues. I am excited to read the other two and see where the story takes us. I love this author. She is funny and unpredictable in her writing, which in my book is a great combination!
