potosroseColorado Springs, CoAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Fun summer readJune 3, 2014potosroseColorado Springs, CoAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Maddie is torn. Torn between two fathers, as she just discovered the father who raised her is actually her stepfather. She just met her birth father and discovered a shared passion for sailing and competing in regattas, but she still has questions about her life. Why was her birth father not a part of her childhood? And how can she trust what anyone says after learning she has been lied to her whole life? So when a member of Maddie's sailboat crew breaks his leg weeks before the big race, Maddie is torn again between 2 potential replacement crew members. One of them is an experienced sailor, and is highly recommended. The other is a stranger named Grady, who was sent by Taylor to keep an eye on Maddie and to keep other guys from hitting on her while Taylor is gone. Grady is chosen because he works best with the crew, and as they focus on training for the big race Maddie and Grady spend a lot of time together. The closer they become, the more conflicted Maddie and Grady feel since they are friends with Taylor, and Maddie doesn't know about Taylor's ulterior motives for sending Grady.
I enjoyed these characters and their journey to healing and love. It was also interesting to read about sailing in a regatta, I've never even been on a sailboat so it was really fun for me to read about the strategy used in sailing races and all the training they put in to compete. A fun summer read!

kingsdaughter1611ILAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Another Great One from Elizabeth Goddard!May 11, 2014kingsdaughter1611ILAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I have read several books by Elizabeth Goddard and loved each of them. Even the smaller novels like this one can really have good lessons and they are not corny like many of the books under 200 pages. Believe me, I have started many I don't ever finish because I can't stand the writing.
Love in the Wind is about Maddie and Grady. Maddie has just recently(okay, about 2 years ago) been told that her father isn't really her father. She meets her birth father and instantly wants to prove herself to him. They both have something in common, sailing. On different levels as he is rich and wealthy but still racing. Her best friend is Taylor. He likes her, believes he is in love with her, but close to race time, he breaks his leg while skiing in Colorado. So he calls in his friend Grady.
Grady is nice. A little bit different but I liked him. He is nowhere near as controlling as Taylor. More of a protective person. And let me tell you, the early morning jog he takes with Maddie is pretty hilarious. Did I mention 5 AM? When neither of them are morning people and she is just trying to test him:) I laughed out loud when I read this section.
One of my favorite characters was Lindy. She owns a shop in town where Maddie works under her. There is a part where Lindy was given a gift from her husband that is really sweet. She is an older woman with lots of wisdom to impart. I love people like this! I can sit and listen, talk and chat with those who know things but don't act all bossy and like they are above you. The epitome of a southern woman misplaced:)
Another excellent story that I thoroughly enjoyed! If you like a good book that has moral lessons and growth in faith, I would suggest picking this one up.

LindaAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Sweet storyMay 9, 2014LindaAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I loved this story and the development of the characters. Maddie recently learned that the man she had called "father" all of her life is not her biological father. She also has recently met and spent time with her biological father, and finds out that they share a love of competitive sailing. Maddie is entered to race in a regatta that is coming up soon. She hopes to win the race, not only because she is competitive, but she feels that it is necessary in order to make her biological father proud of her. Imagine her dismay when one of her crewmembers is injured and is unable to continue. Enter Grady, who has been sent to replace the injured crewmember. He's only supposed to be a temporary replacement, as he is looking for a job opportunity that will probably take him far away from Maddie and sailing. Grady is facing financial difficulties and feels like a failure. He's also struggling to keep a promise that he made that is becoming increasingly difficult to keep. Elizabeth Goddard does a fantastic job showing how Maddie and Grady learn to let go of their own ideas and learn to depend on God. Maddie must learn that love cannot be earned, neither from her biological father nor from God. I highly recommend this book.

KatrinaWestern KyAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A contemporary romance about learning to forgive.May 8, 2014KatrinaWestern KyAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Elizabeth Goddard brings us another wonderful romance. It is simply put a feel good romance. Maddie Cramer is a beautiful, young woman who live has been turned upside down for the past few years and my heart simply goes out to her. She must learn to forgive those who have hurt her and also learn to trust again, but that is not going to be easy for her. She loves sailing and racing, but entering into the Regatta this year is the biggest race she's entered so far. She wants to race, but at the same time she is trying to prove herself worthy to her biological father. We are introduced to Grady Stone who I immediately fell in love with. When one of the crew on Maddie's boat is injured she must find a replacement and fast. Grady is there to help a friend out until he can find a job, so this should not pose a problem. Unfortunately the more time spent together the deeper his feelings for Maddie becomes. The only problem is to act on those feeling will cause him to loose one of the most important things, his honor. This is an intriguing story of learning how to forgive and making the right choices. I would recommend it to anyone.
Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Sweet RomanceMay 1, 2014Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5After reading Love in the Wind, I had a very happy and content feeling. I also felt that I had acquired a great deal of knowledge about sailing! This was an enjoyable read.
The story centers on Maddie, who second guesses every emotion and decision she makes, and Grady, who currently feels like a failure! There are good reasons that these two battle their own emotions throughout the book. In the midst of a beautiful setting, we get to follow Maddie and Grady as they work to sort out their feelings for each other. When Maddie discovers that Grady has ulterior motives for being in town and helping her in the regatta, will she be able to forgive him for not telling her everything from the beginning? Will he ever be able to regain her trust? A fun and easy read, full of romance.
