Tell us a little about yourself. I want to devote my life to fulfilling the Great Commission and possibly using my book to do this. I want to be available to present this study to as many churches as physically possible.
What was your motivation behind this project? Spending many mornings in prayer, I found myself reciting words without meaning. Also, I had a tendency to have a needs and wants list for the Lord. I actually expected results from my pitiful prayers, but I wanted to do it right. Perhaps my failings can teach others how to find purpose and meaning in prayer as they actually develop a relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I want people to gain a more passionate relationship with God and Jesus. By writing in my book, they will be leaving a legacy to their families about how they loved and prayed to the Lord.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I developed a closer relationship with God. But more importantly, I still struggle and fight with the issues of today. However, now I allow God more control of my life as I leave all the hard stuff for Him to deal with. I trust fully in Him, and it helps.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Christian Music and my church (Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Colonial Heights VA) and other churches inspire me as play in the band I see from the stage the many people that pray and CRY when they actually FEEL the presence of the Lord. The Book Circle Prayer by Mark Batterson and the Men's Bible Study The Uncommon Man by Tony Dungy. These books have changed my life and encouraged me to try to help others.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: With God ALL things are possible. Trust in God and use this book to develop a more meaniful relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
