Tell us a little about yourself. My journey to become an author has been one that has lasted most of my life. My life has been one that has involved many occupations: business owner, manager, medical worker, military officer, Christian worker and pastor. A good read has always been attractive to me and being an author someday has been a life-long desire. My wife and I have raised five children and are blessed with six grand children now. My interests include astronomy, photography and travel.
What was your motivation behind this project? The motivation for the composition of this book originated soon after seminary as I discovered the many qualities of faith that Christians have been known for over the centuries and the providential blessings from God that accompany these qualities.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It is my hope that this book will highlight the Scriptural qualities of Christians and motivate the reader to explore these qualities further in their own lives. At the end of this book a suggested format for regular study and further investigation is provided. This subject is infinite in the possibilities for study and spiritual pursuits. It would be my highest hope that readers are blessed with the grace of God in pursuing these qualities in their own lives.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Like the composition of most books and literature pursuits, this book has provided me with a greater knowledge and depth of the Scriptures and the subject presented. The process of composition and publishing the book has required discipline and great desire for meeting deadlines and work accomplishment. Most important of all it has been a spiritual blessing on my life and a motivation of future, similar pursuits.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? A host of influences and authors have impacted the background of this book. First, were the leaders and instructors I have been blessed with including a high school principal and teacher, various pastors, academic mentors, professors and my own father. All of the author's listed in the biography of the book's bibliography have impacted me in the composition of this book.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I am working on a Study Guide and Journal edition of this book that is intended to make the subject more personal. Every subject quality from the original book is addressed in-depth with personal questions and Bible quotations to accompany further study. I am excited about the concept and possibilities of this project and hope it will enhance the intent of the original book.
