I did not even get past Genesis to dismiss this translation as being unsuitable a a gift for a new believer. In my opinion there are too many passages where vital information is left out or gets lost. Look at Genesis 3 Verse 6 for example, and I could go on and on.
The fact that Adam was "with her" (witnessing the whole situation and not stepping in as he should) is so crucial. But this translation leaves it out.
This copy of the Living Bible is very nice, and easy on the eyes to read. The print is dark, and even. The price is great. The indexing print is easy to read, helping to locate the books in this Bible. Another great value from our Christian family at Christianbooks.
May our Wonderful LORD richly bless you in your reading, and study of His Word.
Was a little disappointed with the Bible. Trying to adjust to it. I don't know if I like the way they have taken out Jesus name & replaced it with "He" reference. I miss the red letter scriptures of Jesus talking, and the head lines of titles in reference to the subjects. But unfortunately I can't return it, because I had my name inscribed on it..so I'll either get use to it or get another type that I'm more satisfied with. But the quality is excellent. Do like the large print.
I had purchased this Bible several years ago, when it was first published and have always enjoyed reading it, It is easy to read in modern day language and has foot notes giving the actual words that were used. I bought 8 of these to give to my children and adult grandchildren for Christmas, They loved them. This is a nice looking Bible. The pages are a lot thinner then the 1st edition and the printing is smaller making it a lot less bulky and easier to handle. I had hoped the print would have been a little larger, but a great Bible.
