Product Description

If the manger only has meaning during our holiday celebrations we've missed the point of the story. Jesus was born, so that we could be born again. The events of His birth and the people who welcome Him have many lessons to teach us about the glorious gospel and how Jesus came to change our life.

This Christmas season, take time out of your busy life to remember the manger. Set aside your hectic schedule. Grab a cup of coffee and sit for a few minutes each day and learn what it means to live in light of the manger.

Publisher's Description

Why did God send His Son Jesus as a baby, born of human flesh, to rescue mankind?  What is significant about the way God chose to redeem?  Take time this Advent Season to meditate on the manger.  Jesus was born, so that we could be born again.  His timely arrival and the circumstances surrounding His birth have valuable lessons to teach us how to live in light of the manger.

Author Bio

As a young mom, Sheila fell in love with Bible study when asked to join a Precept study on 2 Peter.  Throughout the years of raising their daughters, working full-time and serving in ministry, she has loved studying and teaching in the Word.  Now at this time of "empty-nest" life, she is enjoying the opportunity to try her hand at writing to encourage other believers.  Sheila and her husband reside in Hendersonville, NC, where they have established Around The Corner Ministries to equip and encourage followers of Christ to share the gospel where they live, work and play.  They love spending time with their two daughters and sons-in-law, and are excited to welcome their first two grandchildren the summer of 2017.

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I came to know Christ as Savior as a 7-year-old during a VBS program. God has blessed me with many wonderful teachers and preachers who taught me the truth of His Word, and I'm grateful for them! I'm a wife, a mom and a grandma (the best job ever!).

What was your motivation behind this project?  Our ministry, Around The Corner Ministries, is gospel-centered. Our vision is for believers in neighborhoods and communities to become aware of the people who live, work and play right around them, and be conscious of sharing the gospel with them. Christmas is a great time to talk about our faith, and I wanted to create a devotional that could be shared with friends and neighbors as a way of sharing the gospel.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  My prayer is that people will buy the devotional and give it away to someone who hasn't met Jesus, and that many people will have their spiritual eyes opened to how much Jesus loves us, and accept the gift of salvation that He came to bring to us.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Whenever we focus our mind and heart on the gospel, we are refreshed. As believers, we should never tire of hearing the story of Christmas. The gospel affects every part of my life; it defines me. Working on this project reminded me of the miracle of salvation and the great need of mankind for God's mercy and grace.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My husband has a great passion for the gospel and he inspires me with his heart for others to know God. I love reading both today's great men and women who teach us truth from scripture, as well as the old saints like Spurgeon, Andrew Murray, and A.W. Tozer.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I do not consider myself a "professional" writer. I love Jesus, and I love His Word. If you are inspired, motivated, or taught by anything I write, all glory goes to God - I just want to be a faithful and obedient vessel.
