Having served as a pastor for nearly twenty-five years, Dr. Richard Exley understands the vital ministry and unique needs of the local church. During his twelve years as Senior Pastor of Christian Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the church grew from a struggling congregation of less than 100 members to a thriving fellowship numbering nearly a 1000. Under his leadership Christian Chapel became one of the top fifty Assemblies of God churches in missions giving and initiated a missionary-in-residence program that has become a model for other churches. Richard knows what it takes to make a local church successful. And he’s also well aware of the things that can bring a local congregation down.
Conference and Retreat Speaker
After having served as pastor for over 25 years, he now devotes his time to writing and preaching. He is a dynamic speaker who frequently ministers at retreats and conferences for ministers and missionaries, both in the United States and abroad. In addition Richard is much in demand as a speaker for men's retreats, both on a District level and for local churches.
Marriage Retreats
With his wife Brenda, Richard has developed three marriage seminars -- Forever In Love, Predictable Crises in Marriage and Blended Families -- Making the Most of Remarriage. Utilizing both scriptural principles and personal experience they share truths that can make even the most successful marriage better.

A well-known author, Richard has written thirty books and hundreds of articles. He recently completed a textbook on Pastoral Ministry for Global University's Faith & Action Series. Richard's articles have appeared in numerous magazines including "Leadership Journal," "Charisma," "Ministries Today," "The Pentecostal Evangel," "Advance," "Enrichment" and "New Man."
