Practical instruction for living a confident life in a world filled with chaos and crisis.
In the New York Times best-seller What in the World Is Going On? Dr. David Jeremiah summarized ten prophetic clues that are coming true in our own generation. In light of these chaotic events, how can we continue to live a life of commitment and confidence? Looking through the lens of the same verses that speak of Christs return Dr. Jeremiah now points us to the habits we must establish that will form a pattern for living with certain hope in our uncertain times. They include how to stay:
- Centered in Christ
- Committed to the Word
- Compassionate toward others
- Connected to the church
- Consistent in your walk
- Calm in your heart
- Certain of His coming
- Confident in your faith
David Jeremiah is the founder of Turning Point, an international ministry committed to providing Christians with sound Bible teaching through radio and television, the Internet, live events, and resource materials and books. David serves as the senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in San Diego, California, where he resides with his wife, Donna. They have four grown children and twelve grandchildren.

He uses the 10 C's stay clam, compassionate, constructive, challenged, connected, centered, confident, consistent, committed and convinced. For each point Jeremiah uses examples to help his audience apply the technique.
I wanted to read this book because I tend to overact to what is going on in the world, but after reading the first couple chapters I felt more anxious about current events. The book was helpful, but too long and drawn out. I think he should have combined some of the chapters. It was not the type of book that you could read cover to cover in one sitting. It was a little too boring for that. Overall, I did learn a lot from the book, but it wasn't my favorite read.
I was given this book by BookSneeze to review.
Tony5 Stars Out Of 5A practical book for an impractical worldOctober 27, 2010TonyMeets Expectations: 5I think if I were to sum this book up in one word it would be perspective.
How do we view the world and things that are going on. Do we view it as chaos, recession, depression_.do we find ourselves depressed when we turn on the news and see the stock market, or that the unemployment rate has once again gone up.
Do we view this time we are in through Gods eyes and through His word.
This book was a great reminder of who it is that holds the future. It gives practical steps to staying strong when it would be so easy to give up.
This was a timely book for me as I fill out job applications, go to interviews, get discouraged and wonder what my place in this mess of life is.
There are very practical steps that helped me re focus, stay strong, stay connected and have hope.
If you turn on the news and you feel this overwhelming sensation that the world is falling apart I would recommend this book.
Stay strong, keep the faith, and cling to the one that holds the future!

Laurie Robinson1 Stars Out Of 5September 28, 2010Laurie RobinsonLiving with Confidence in a Chaotic World by David Jeremiah is a book filled with advice to Christians concerning the end times. There are ten chapters that tell us how to react and live in these perilous times. This book is a sequel or follow-up to What in the World is Going On. Dr. David Jeremiah is a reputable voice in the TV and Radio world with his show Turning Point which has many listeners. I had high expectations knowing Dr. Jeremiahs reputation. The book is filled with analogies and stories which reinforce his teachings to stay calm, stay compassionate, etc. I enjoyed these little stories and felt they were actually the best part of the book. To be honest, once I got past the first few chapters, I really had trouble keeping my mind focused on the book. It got a little boring. The most disappointing part was Dr. Jeremiahs use of so many versions (or perversions) of the Bible. As I started reading the book, I knew it would not be a King James only book, and I was willing to look past that. BUT when Dr. Jeremiah quoted from the Message as if it were an actual Bible: that was it for me. So, if you need a reminder of lessons you've already learned about not stressing out when things all around us are chaotic, AND if you can look past the ludicrous use of Bible versions...then this book is for you!!!
Mary hessSummerville, SCAge: 35-44Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5September 20, 2010Mary hessSummerville, SCAge: 35-44Gender: femaleThis is the first book I've ever had from Dr. Jeremiah. If you are not into end-time issues, then this book may be a bit much for you to read. I'm not much for talking about end-times and the many different view points around, but I must say that he definitely gives us the tools we need in order to make it through these tumultuous times. It would even make for a great Bible study as well for those interested in how to deal with everything we see taking place around us.BookSneeze provided me with a copy of this book to review.
