Product Description

The Living Bible is a "thought-for-thought" version as opposed to a word-for-word translation. "Paraphrase" is a restatement of an author's thoughts using different words than he did. This book is a paraphrase of both the Old Testament and New Testament. Its purpose, according to the editors, is to say as exactly as possible what the writers of the Scriptures meant, and to say it simply, expanding where necessary for a clear understanding by the modern reader.

Around 1970, my great-aunt bought & brought a few gold-ish paperback copies to give to us. I was in junior high (mid-school) and it was a great start for me to get into the Word of God. I liked the way it spoke to me and my generation and still is relevant for today's teens. I still use it for my devotions (my me-time). Though it was a great starting point, as I matured spiritually, physically, mentally, it was easy for me to move on to greater Study Bibles (NASB) Translations. Remember we didn't have much of a choice back in those days (1960-70s), mostly KJV which was boring for young people, as we tried to struggle through the language much less the meaning. So The Living Bible was a Great Source for us. I still give used copies to New or immature Believers. Thank You Lord for bring the right Bible to us at the right time. Many of my childhood friends went into ministry. I was a missionary and now a local disabled person on a mission. Be mindful it was the Holy Spirit that spoke & taught us. Also, there are some corrections needed, ie, Matthew 9:1-8 - boy or man - needed healed ?

Please don't stop printing or stop publishing The Living Bible, paraphrased.

One suggestion, could you add an evangelistic and brief discipleship section to The Living Bible.

I have a Living Bible and I really do love it. Bought one for my great grandaughter and was somewhat displeased with the smaller and not as bold type. Looked just like mine but not the same font. Bolder type would be better.

Got this for a friend who wanted a Bible like the one I have from my deceased mother. It is easier to understand and my friend is thrilled to have it!
